How Do I Seek God’s Guidance in Decision Making?
God loves us and gives us free will to make decisions and live life the way we desire. Sometimes, He gives us a choice in our decision making. However, He wants us to keep in mind His perfect will.

- Dive into God’s Word for answers.
- Ask God for wisdom.
- Trust the Spirit’s leading.
- Commit my decision making to the Lord.
- Trust God with the outcome.
Before we turn to other sources of wise counsel, we should first dive into God’s Word for answers on decision making. Scripture is living and active. God speaks to us through the Bible.

I believe it was because the Holy Spirit was calling me towards something greater, including being at home with my kids.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27
God has sent the Holy Spirit to be our intermediary and help us with decision making. God helps and guides those who search for Him with all their heart. The Spirit is the Spirit of truth and will help reveal to us decisions that align with God’s will.
God helps and guides those who search for Him with all their heart.

I shared this message with my 21 year old son, Colin, who has been a prodigal for the last 5 years. He has been doing his own things and has been financially drowning. He needs direction but refused to hear what we, his parents, had to say. Please pray that he seeks God’s help when he’s at his lowest. Pray for him to open his heart for Jesus Christ to come in so that he can live and follow God’s way.
Hi, Malloree!
I am praying for your son that God will get hold of his heart and help him turn to the Saviour. It’s hard to pray for our children to reach the end of their rope, but that’s where we all have to get to in order to realize our own insufficiency and our desperate need of Him. Praying for you and your husband, too, as you hurt for him and must watch the process play out in your beloved child’s life. But God! He can do miracles!
Blessings! 💗
